The hill-climber of the two Moab Half Marathons, the OTHER HALF, is a mid-October race with runners this year from Alaska to Germany. Starting at Dewey Bridge and running through the narrow Colorado River canyon for six miles, the course then bursts out into Professor Valley rimmed by the Fisher Towers, Priest and Nuns, and Castle Rock. 1600 runners compete for age group podiums and the most attractive and unique trophies of any race. A hint of rain, mostly virga, and an overcast sky kept the temperatures below 70 for most of the runners.
