I am Who I am


The sun was just about to rise. I loved to look out at the dark sky and see a new day begin. It was almost 5:00 A.M and I needed some sleep. That nights festivities, like always were completely exhilarating. The rush of the unexpected; The beating in my heart; The courage to share what makes me who I am. This was never a certain thing for me. It was just something in my life, until it became my life. There was a time when I wanted to go back. I wanted how my life was, I wanted who I was. I quickly learned that this was my destiny, this is where I belonged and I have become who I am supposed to be.
So who am I? I am Sophie Miller. Girl next door, turn pop star. Unbelievable right? This was all just a dream until the day I became friends with our new neighbor, Kevin Jonas.

Morning came fast. I was tired but couldn't sleep more than a few hours. We'd be in another city in a while. I grabbed some water and a protein bar and flopped on the chair. The tour bus was big, but not big enough. I grab my journal and flipped back some pages.
Dear Dreamer, I read. Reighlei and I set out for the Lake again today. Expecting our usual scenic view; But not that of a boy with a guitar. He was one of the Jonas boys, The new neighbors that moved in a few weeks ago. He was amazing with the guitar. Although, he'd never admit to it.*I read on, remembering everything right down to the last detail. As though it happened just yesterday.*Reighlei and I walked further to the lake and quickly made friends with Kevin. We were down there all day writing songs and being silly. The sun was finally setting and we made plans to hang out another day. I feel lucky today. Life can't get any better.

I smiled to myself and flipped to a clean sheet of paper. Remembering the details of the last two weeks I scratched down a few sentences.

Dear Dreamer,
The last two weeks have been amazing. I have gotten to meet some wonderful people and see some amazing sights; All with Reighlei by my side. She has become my back-up singer, as we planned. It is truly amazing. I'm on my first ever tour and the official opening act for the Jonas Brothers. How crazy is that! The feeling is like none other. Hundreds of screaming fans fill the stadium. The music starts, my heart races and the lights shine on me. What happens next is all a blur. I get that cold feeling all over my body. Surprisingly I know what to do. It just happens. It is unbelievable! I can't believe someone like me, Sophie Miller could be some big time pop star. It is all thanks to Kevin and his brothers. Especially for taking on Reighlei and Me. It's tight quarters, but we're sharing their tour bus until one comes in for us. I don't mind really. There's something comforting about being with them. They are like family to me. We're on to another show. Until next time.

I re-read my entry and closed it shut. I smiled to myself and thought, this life couldn't get any weirder.

"Whhaaat!" I heard Joe screaming from the back and though it would be best to get ready. Who knows what kind of drama was going on. Most likely something I didn't want to get into.
I was quietly getting ready when I heard Joe and Kevin arguing, or "play arguing" It's hard to tell.

"You need to tell her!"
"No Joe! That's not a good idea"
"Come on, don't you think she needs to know!?"
"NO!" Both Kevin and Nick yelled at the same time. I felt bad enough for taking over their bus, now what fight was I causing? I had to interrupt. I threw on some jeans and a t-shirt and knocked on the door.
"Guys, come on. What's going on? What did I do now?"

"Great Joe, she heard you! "
"Me? What about you guys?"

"Nick, are you in there. Come on I know you'll open up!"

"Yeah Sophie, just a sec."

"Kevin, man you have to tell her. She's smart, she'll figure it out if you don't."

Kevin quickly opened the door, smiled and walked out.
"Wait Kevin, what's going on?"

" Nothing we're just talking about how great it is that you're here. Right guys!?"

Joe let out a snort and Nick shoved him down the hall. Something didn't seem right. I didn't want to force the issue. I looked out the window as we were pulling in to the Music Center. Time for another amazing show.
