@UFCritical Not quite, under John Smith we had 20 years of success, Moores took over in 91, when the success was coming to an end, other clubs foresaw bigger capacities, facilities, more boxes, etc would be needed, Moores decided that after 20 years of success, cramming a few more seats into Anfield was the answer.

So today Liverpool generate £45m from match day revenues, whilst Man Utd & Arsenal generate over £100m, which is why Liverpool have so few top draw players in comparison.

@UFCritical As opposed to David Moores that mismanaged the club for 25 years meaning it went into £60 million of debt and they were desperate to sell- hence Gillete/Hicks. I mean how incomptent do you have to be to utterly fail to capitlize on pretty much 20 years of non-stop success? The blame lies with Moores, th Americans can do no worse.

Man United fan born and bred,we hate liverpool,they hate us but hey,when it comes to our own ENGLISH football clubs,i do stand up for love and passion of our clubs.

We will be a disatorous football club in not so many years cos of the yanks we have,it will happen here to.

Bring back the good old days when alls we worried about was the result on the pitch and that was it.

@UFCritical - Its nothing about being ABLE to play football, that which football clubs are owned by Brits, it concerns being able to expertly administer a global product. The real mess at Liverpool can be dated back to the 80s when previous owners/chairman failed to turn the teams success into revenue & profit. Pains me to say but look at the financial success of Man scum U did in the 90s, they did what we didn’t do.

In their own country they encourage their daughters to play the sport while their overweight sons play their U S football - which is GRID IRON ! They have no real respect for the game and were really only trying to make 50 mil each out of our club - THEY GOT THEIR FINGERS BURNED" But honestly, why would other yanks do any different? So for the long term Im still worried !
