He gave reassurance to simpletons perhaps 2001-2005, but he was woefully inadequate as a manager. Insider Larry Wilkerson (Powell's chief of staff) has a lot of insight into his sad and horrible legacy. Some is outside mainstream media - UC Berkeley, Countdown, Democracy Now, antiwar.com, etc. Wilkerson lays it all out clearly from an insider's view.

I knew he was stupid when I saw that sock puppet on his hand taking the oath frum and all these other "speech" writers are in fact cynical and just stupid. Every speech that shit for brains was a language mangling fuck up. kept us safe bull shit...an frum says world wide political peaceful pasture. we are hated by most every country and ally. Bartlett predicted that iraq would be waving US flags- they were on fire!
