This was a great moment in hockey, especially growing up with Bourque and the Bruins, I wanted to see him get his name on the cup with the B's but just as long as he made it before he retired was good for me, Bourque deserved it. Sakic handing the cup over to Bourque to be first skate with it' was awesome! I don't think I will ever forget this game.

Top 3 defenceman with Paul Coffey and Bobby Orr

that's gotta be the best class act in the history of the nhl, from joe sakic.
-
Second greatest French-Canadian to ever play on the Avalanche (besides Patrick Roy).

@gsh915 I despise the bruins with a passion but I gotta agree. A cup with Boston would have been perfect. Best Dmen of all time.

Bourque has to be considered one of, if not the best defensman of all-time. Great moment for him, only way it could've been better is if it had come with Boston.

@AStoryToScream he's one of them but I think Yzerman just beats him by a little bit, to give the cup to the greatest coach of all time for his last game and let him skate it first, i'm a huge wings fan and i wanted colorado to win because of bourque but idk just yzerman handing it to bowman made me cry as a kid

@jfdhjgdh2010 im just saying that they were a few bounces away from being back to back champs, and did what they had to do to win, like all good teams do
The best thing about that celebration, was Joe Sakic showing class and respect for Bourque. I mean, to hand off the cup and allow Bourque to be the first one to hoist it, kiss it, and skate with it, just shows so much for Joe.
Joe Sakic, the greatest sportsman ever in the history of the NHL.

This was a classic moment in Sports History. Not only for Ray Bourque, who deserved the cup, but also with Joe Sakic immediately handing him the cup and telling him to skate with it. Ray deserved this moment. I watched this entire game live and it was unbelievable. The series was great and the best way to win. Now - it's the Bruins turn!
