And if the mountains should crumble
Or disappear into the sea
Not a tear, no not I
Stay this time
Stay tonight in a lie
Ever after is loving time
And if you save your love
Save your tear
Don't push me too far
Don't push me too far
Tonight
Tonight

The Unforgettable Fire...and The Joshua Tree...the 2 greatest albums ever made (JT being the best ever).

but both of them are so spiritually deep, thought evoking...filled wih religous/spiritual imagery. I learned so much about myself listening to these amazing songs........

its sad they didn't continue on this route...although No Line on the Horizon is probably their best album since JT.

3- I read somewhere that the inspiration for this song came after Bono attended an exhibition of photos depicting Hiroshima and Nagasaki right after the bombs were dropped. The exhibition was named The Unforgettable Fire, due to the fire mushroom each bomb caused. The image at 3:06 seems to reaffirm that.
