After a very intensive period, namely the restauration of the Kamabolon (a sacred hut in Kangaba), during which the Diabate are responsable for the reciting of the Sunjata epic, the young Diabate griots from Kela (Mali) enjoy themselves and relax on a wooden platform singing praisesongs. The first song is a typical female griot praisesong called soliyo (calling horses), while the second song is named Taara (literally this means gone), often sung for people who have left their village. Filmed in april 2004. For further info about Kela, check: www.kelamali.com or www.kela.fr
