Maybe not as famous as noid, Kalaka was an attempt to start a new word, in this entertaining public service announcement from the 70's featuring a singing skunk.
This is SO funny! I remember this from when I was a kid in the '70s and I have always referred to "carpooling" as Kalaka! I was talking to my Mom about this yesterday because my brother & I are going to "carpool" out to their house for dinner (they live about 35 minutes away) and she had no idea what I was talking about. I said that I was going to look it up and this came up on Google! What a BLAST from my past! LOVE IT! So I will continue to refer to carpooling as KALAKA!
@Scansinboy You ain't kiddin, Scansinboy. I pondered about this 4 a long, long time. It came out the year after I was born. Where does the time go? Know whut I mean?
I thought it was Mel Brooks, not Mel Blanc and the PSA was a riff on his and Carl Reiner's "10,000 Year Old Man" routine.

I still say this when people mention carpooling.

I gotta say, that skunk was not only cute, but he had a great voice.

@heine71 I hate to be a doubting Thomas but I'm not sure that's Mel Blanc doing the voice of Noah.
