Ondekoza (Taiko Drummers of Mt. Fuji)

Ondekoza is a professional taiko drumming troupe based at the foot of Mt. Fuji in Japan. Formed in 1969, they have been widely influential in introducing and popularizing taiko drumming around the globe. They are known to have set the groundwork for many of the styles seen in taiko today. Based on the philosophy of "running" and "drumming" as one, Ondekoza continues to run, drum and journey around the world today.

鬼太鼓座は1969年、故田耕(でん　たがやす)の構想のもとに集まった若者達により佐渡で結成。鬼太鼓座の活動の根源にあるのが、「走ることと音楽とは一体であり、それは人生のドラマとエネルギーの反映だ」­という「走楽論」。走り、叩き、舞う。富士の山鬼太鼓座の挑戦は続きます。
