@Julsinmaine101 pumpkin and squash are just different varieties of the same plant species, I think in America the green pumpkin is called a squash, but in other parts (NZ Aussie and UK?) both the green and orange varieties are called pumpkin.

You could use butternut squash. I make a very similar soup using: Butternut Squash Onion Cumin Seeds Curry Paste Vegetable Stock Double Cream Fresh Lemon Juice Chopped Fresh Coriander Leaf Sea Salt and Fresh Ground Black Pepper
