@mrernestthomspon I would say it's more about the diversity of their rap than anything else, and that comes from being realistic and ironic. Although, I hesitate to draw a total conclusion; we might only being seeing the best of the best Afrikaan due to its relative difficulty in becoming popular enough to make it to America. In American rap we see IT ALL, crappy and good alike.
That said, it seems like most American rap is really all ****ing hoes and drinking expensive crap.

I think I like Afrikaans rap over American rap because America rap is all about how rich they all are, and yada yada... Yet Afrikaans rap is about being poor, and being better than most people assume you to be. I think this is a more universal theme than 'sipping Crystal champagne and fucking hot models.'
