If you watched the news or even GOOGLED it you would probably know the main reason was to avoid agitating members of Al-Qaeda, which might lead to an increase in terrorist attacks, or other things. Another part of it was to "look good" to the other leading power countries. We wouldn't look very good waving pictures around of some guy we shot in the head... and we wouldn't want anyone else to do the same if they killed our president
