Crochet along tutorial for the Grannie Ripple Afghan. Find the pattern on my website: http://bethintx.webs.com/grannierippl... Sandie Petit of Crochet Cabana made it available in PDF here: http://www.crochetcabana.com/patterns... (scroll down to Elizabeth Ham.) Thanks Sandie! If you have a copy of this pattern from before March 21, 2010...corrections have been made, so you will want to pick up a new copy.

  • Your beginning and ends of rows are where you are likely going wrong. The beginning row, make you first shell AFTER the first shell. Also, do not chain 1 after your last shell, skip 1chain and double crochet in the last stitch.

  • @Bethintx1 That should say, ..."The beginning of the row,"... end with "double crochet in the next chain. "

  • Ok thanks. I've only just started teaching myself to crochet, so for now I think I will just go back to my continuous granny square blankets. I'll try to conquer the ripple again some day. I really appreciate your videos so please keep them coming :)

  • I don't know where I went wrong. My blanket hasn't turned out to be a rectangle, it has just got wider and wider, kind of like a pyramid now. How did I go wrong do you think? Pretty upset with myself :(
