Tamil Tiger terrorist (LTTE) storm two villages looking for a deserted child soldier; More civilians escape from tigers' den
The Media Centre for National Security (MNCS) says that 72 people belonging to 26 families arrived at Redithanna in Batticaloa from LTTE dominated areas this morning.

The refugees told the officials that a group of LTTE terrorists stormed the villages of Akran and Minimuthiweli in Vakarai area in the early hours of today (Monday the 27th of November), looking for a 14 year old child soldier who had deserted the outfit.

The mother of the Child soldier who is also among the refugees, revealed that she had asked her son to seek refuge at the Army detachment Redeethanna, as he arrived home yesterday. The child soldier surrendered to the security forces personnel last evening. He is now safe at the hands of the relevant authorities.

The mother further revealed that the terrorists shot the child's uncle to death as he refused to tell the whereabouts of him. Earlier, the child's father was also assassinated by the LTTE cadres.

Following the shooting incident that took place around 8.30 this morning the terror stricken villagers decided to flee in to the government controlled areas to avoid further harassment.

The escapees included twenty three males, twenty one females, eleven boys and eighteen girls. They further said that there are some more civilians in the abandoned villages and those too would be vacating after attending the funeral rites of the murdered villager. The Army took them to a IDPs' camp to provide them with the necessities.

Meanwhile, two more LTTE cadres including a child soldier was arrested by the security forces personnel at a road block laid at Mawadiwembu at 1.30p.m yesterday.

A video footage released by the MCNS last week shows a lamenting Tamil mother whose five sons were abducted by the LTTE terrorists. The mother who had also arrived at the government controlled areas as a refugee last week complained that all her five sons were forcibly recruited to the terror outfit during past few months. She further, complained that the LTTE had refused to give her any details regarding her sons and chased away her telling that her son had deserted the outfit.
