Wherein HoldinCoffee discusses suicide prevention on the internet.

http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/

Is cyberspace so removed from reality that suicide can't be addressed? If you encounter someone in a chatroom or on a message board who is suicidal, what should you do? What can you do? Are cyberfriendships real enough to make a difference?

Sometimes its not possible to help someone who does not wish to be helped. That's life. But if someone wishes to accept help, where can you begin?

  • Sometimes it's best to turn over matters to emergency personnel unless you are close and understand the scope of the problem.

  • Good point....la vita e bella!,so you had better speak up or speak out if there are any problems.....we should remember..."No man is an Island" plz keep this in mind. :)

    Give love, and Lift Up.

  • Thank YOU, Tina.

I've experienced loss myself. I felt a HUGE amount of guilt for years. But now... I just miss my friend.

  • Lost my partner of 16 years because of this, just a month ago sometimes I think i was not paying attention...now I have many guilt feelings but I never thought that this entered her mind.

    Thanks Holdin..

    Tina

  • I'm so sorry. I lost a sister this way as well in 1972. What a tragic thing to have in common. I am very sorry.

  • i lost my sister too suicide thanks so much for this important video rip kate

  • Great advice here.I have unfortunately lost several friends to suicide and there is always that feeling afterwards. The "if only" feeling, but acceptance has to come eventually and one must realise all people are responsible for their own actions. We should always be alert though and it's better to err on the side caution, even if incorrect, rather than do nothing at all.And stay calm.

  • Wow there is alot about this on the tube lately. Its something that alot of us have not had to deal with. Thanks Holdin for your thoughts, advice and links in the description.

  • Great job!
