@perpetualmotion100 That won't work. Take about 50mg 80% enriched Nq-436 (weapons-grade Naquadah), mix it with a couple of drops of super-glue and put it on the cam and the rod. This mixture eliminates friction and provides the mechanical extra kick.

You need a magnet in your bar and a magnet on the underside so when the arm hits it it will raise the bottom magnet giving the vgate enough force to clear the top bar once again...and the top bar forcing the arm to the low position again ;-) try that and repost.
what if you delete the cam, and put like 5 drive bars evenly around the drum, maybe the force of the 4 drive bars will over come the "stuck" position
