The datacenter where my dad works, we just bought an SL8500 with the touch screen, 8 robots, and it's been expanded to 5 other units. We performed an audit a few hours ago but the tape failed to return it to it's correct cell. Our programmer will check it out this week later on. We decommissioned 1/6 of our STK nearlines. Oh yeah we currently have only 1 drive in for testing purposes and only a few cartridges. T10000 I think.

I remember when we ran backup on STK stand alone drives. We mounted hundreds of tape, filed hundreds of tapes, and sent hundreds tape offsite. About 5 years ago they installed a virtual system. And away went the manual labor.
