Dale Earnhardt Jr makes NASCAR history as he and his father become one of the very few father/son combinations that have won a NASCAR Winston Cup Series event.

....and so begins a overrated Nascar Career ;)

  • overrated nascar career? jr almost won the 2003 and 2004 championship. shit plus jr is the best restrictor plate driver in nascar.

  • @Mr420woo Jr almost won the title? in 03 he finished more than 200 points behind if he almost won then so did Johnson, Gordon, and Harvick. And in 2004 he finished 5th in points, behind Martin, Gordo, Johnson and Busch, I'm not saying Jr has had a bad career but it certainly has been overrated. People act like he is god when the fact of the matter is he has 18 wins and 0 championships. When was his last plate win? 2004, 6 years ago, the way plate races are today anybody can win, them he cant

  • He won the 03 race at Dega fair. He was force under the line and at the time you didn't have to give the position back if you were forced under the line.

  • @dalejrfan33 aka in NASCAR world when Jr does it = okay

Some nobody like Regan Smith = penalty

  • @SammyFarkle He had five top tens in 2000, six WINS in 2004, he was better after Dale Sr's death.

  • @battalionfan888 plus, nobody said nascar wasn't too harsh on Regan Smith, NASCAR did it so nascar's third most popular driver (Tony Stewart) ciuld get a win since Jr and Jeff had been knocked out.

  • @battalionfan888 Still, if his name were something like Michael Brown, and he had the same stats, 18 wins, including 6 in a season, and three top five points finishes, everybody would think he was impressive. But because Dale Earnhardt is two-thirds of his name, everybody automatically thinks he hasn't done enough to prove himself as a good driver.

  • You can Most CERTAINLY tell ... After his Fathers death.. Junior hasnt been as good

Junior was in Contention most every race in 2000 and he hasnt mocked a performance since 2003 season... even in 2004 when he had 6 wins.

  • @battalionfan888 How many other drivers currently active have 18+ wins? Not many.

  • @Mr420woo he has had a decent career, but now he's not towards the top all the time like he used to be.

  • but I do agree that he aint as good as he used to be

  • @MIBFreakPack well Im a Jr fan and know he isnt even close to being "one of the best drivers" but he has had a pretty decent career. forget that his last name is earnhardt for a second and look at his career. finished in the top 5 in points 3 times, won the daytona 500, won 5 talladega races(4 in a row). his was a championship contender his first year in hendrick for the 1st half of the year but didnt do shit in the chase. and how he performed in this years 500 proves he still got skill

  • @Mr420woo I wouldn't say best restrictor plate racer. He won 4 in a row sure and then another a year later at dega with 2 Daytona wins. However, guys like Gordon, Harvick, and Stewart are always in contention to win. Gordon has (if i am not mistaken) 12 plate wins, Stewart is always towards the front at the end, and Harvick the same. Jr. isn't as good as he used to be and his career is still looked at as "one of the best drivers" pretty often.
