I have a theory: Dumbass suburban white guy writes a few mediocre acoustic guitar songs, gets signed. Record goes through roof with stupid female fans. Surprised, guy invents bogus backstory about "secret blues past" and tries frantically to catch up on electric guitar. Sound familiar?
