give a child with signs of possible rickets at least a quart of whole milk a day

Milk fortified with vitamin D is now

from the age of five or six month onward, one egg york a day will be helpful

Give the daily sunbaths, exposure to sunlight within reasonable limits, causes the skin to produce some vitamin D

give the child cod-liver oil or other good source of vitamin D beginning at three or four weeks of age

A few drops of halibut-liver oil or of viosterol may be use instead of cod-liver oil and this is better for babies who tend to be fat

also give the baby adequate vitamin C

properly graduated quartz-light treatment may take the place of sun-baths
