  • Beautiful. I did not know there was such an elegant Japanese skater before Mao. Where has she gone? What happened to her???

  • Hi, thank you for the info. It is a huge loss to the figure skating and to us. I read some other comments and learned that she retired from the competitive stages. Injury is a destroyer. I can't imagine how much of shock, pain & dissapointment she, with such talent, had to go through when the word "retirement" seeped into her. She could still be a very strong & beloved skater even without 3-3 especially under the current rule. I know I should not talk if-things, though...

  • Her arthro was damaged so she retired amature.

Now she is preparing to comeback as professional skater.

It was truely regretful for Japanese.

  • She's had to deal with injuries from jumping since 2004. Has never really come back internationally since 2004 Skate America. She's still IMO the most beautiful female skater I've seen.

  • She retired just last year :(.

  • Wow. She's great. very artistic and honest techniques. I didn't know her until recently. Did she retire due to injuries? what a loss if she did.

  • I actually like her a lot.
