Learn how to shorten shoulders and do shoulder pad alterations on jackets. View More Here: www.eSewingWorkshop.com
Part A - In this part you will learn how to do a first fitting, mark the new armhole seam line, pressing, transfer marks from the shell to the lining, altering shoulder pads, and inserting the shoulder pads. Part B - In this part you will learn how to do a second fitting, altering and marking the sleeve cap seam line, sewing the sleeves to the arm holes and sewing the shoulder pads in place.
I would imagine trimming excess length and evening edges would be easier and more accurate if shaping occured afterwards. Straight lines. Makes sense.
