@doods458 I have seen that video before. That guy is good but he lifts up his feet too soon and also he does small mooonwalks rather than bigger (longer) ones which are much easier and his shoes are better than mine. he is good though i enjoyed watching him.

u cant do the moonwalk with just any shoes on just any surface, can you?

@spanishsupafly you could do it but it wouldn't look as good. surface is more important than the shoes, you could do it with almost any kind of shoes, but if the surface is sticky and not smooth enough you won't be able to slide your feet back. people often make the mistake of comparing their moonwalk to MJ's.MJ had the custome made shoes for moonwalking, he always did it on waxed and buffed smooth floors or stages, he practiced it alot,he was skinny and he had been dancing since age 5.

@nrmj25 also, your body as a whole plays an important part, the more athletic you are the easier it will be also the skinner you are, but the most important part is practice as i said before.You have to exercise those small muscles and bones in your toes, those muscles are barely used in our daily lives thats why they may be weak, but if you start using them they will gain strength in time just like any other muscles in your body i.e chest, shoulders, biceps and etc. hope the info is helpful:)

@ABC5123jk I am glad you liked the video. Of course nobody can do it like MJ, His moonwalk looks like as if he was on a conveyor belt!! He was/is and always will be the greatest!!. I never claimed my moonwalk is as good as MJ, just wanted to share the move with everyone out there who are trying to learn how to Moonwalk as a tribute to Michael Jackson and in his honor:)

@hsadeh Plenty impersonates get their shoes customized for cheap and perform on waxed buffed floors and their moonwalks still fail (yours looks pretty good by the way) because they don't study the overall body mechanics and posture of the MJ's moonwalk. You gotta give MJ more credit than that. He has skill which trumps everything else most of all. The others factors like floor and shoes may be play an impact though. And yeah definitely his weight helped I agree with that.

@hsadeh Well MJ didn't start out using custom shoes for his moonwalk and it got progressively better with each tour until the History Tour which I think he was going for a more raw and gritty look. The only thing I can say he customized about his shoes was his soles. And there was a point in time when all shoes had raw full leather soles. Smooth floor isn't everything. Sometimes it's more difficult to control the pace with too smooth a floor. Skill is key and MJ had skill. And....
