One Week Later (Now Middle of October)

*Lizs POV*
Its been a week since Ive come back to California; Ive been staying with the Jonas because I dont want to be alone in the house. Joe has tried to call and text me, but each time I ignore the call. I just dont know what he could possibly say to make this right. So far, every night since I have gotten back I have cried myself to sleep thinking of Joe. I know I shouldnt love him anymore because of what he did, but I couldnt help it. My heart always was and always will be his no matter what. I miss him more than anything, no matter how mad I am at him. I miss his smile, I miss his laugh. I miss the way he would trace shapes on my back with his fingers as we walked. I miss his kisses; I miss the sound of his voice. I miss falling asleep in his arms. Who am I kidding? I miss everything about him. I think back to how me and Joe started, but now weve lost all we are because of what hes done. Maybe I should give up.

*Joes POV*
Its been a week since she left. Ive tried to call and text, but never get a reply. Since that day, all of us have stayed away from Demi; although she has tried to talk to me. Right now, we are at a hotel in North Carolina by the beach. I look out into the horizon and see storm clouds. Every strike of lightning brings back the memories I have with her. I miss her beautiful smile, I miss hearing her sweet voice and laughter. I miss the feeling of her in my arms; the feeling of her lips against my own. I feel so stupid for not following her to the bus, I dont want to let her go. I love her too much. I need to get her back. There is no way I am going to let her go. Kevin! I said as I knocked on his door. He opened it. Yeah Joe? he asked. Im flying to California. I need to get her back; Ill be back here in 3 days tops. I replied. He smiled. Go get her man. He replied as I walked away. I was going to get her back and I wasnt going to let her go this time.

*Lizs POV*
I woke up the next morning and looked out the window of the bedroom. I saw the clouds in the sky and thought of my relationship with Joe; its kind of like the song Before the Storm. I sighed and decided to get up and go for a jog to the beach, which was five minutes away. I pulled on my gray sweats and a pink tank top with a black hoodie. I then tied shoes and pulled my hair into a messy bun before grabbing my iPod and running out the door. The feeling of the cool, misty air against my face felt good. I jogged down to the beach, the music blaring in my ears. I had a feeling that I was being followed but ignored it and kept running. When I finally got to the beach, I decided to sit on the sand and watch the waves for a while, turning my music off. It reminded me of when I would spend the days at Rockaway beach in New York with my grandfather and grandmother before he died. I wasnt aware that someone was behind me until they whispered my name, just loud enough for me to hear Elizabeth. I turned and my heart dropped.

*Joes POV*
I got home around 5 this morning. I knew that Liz would be up in about an hour to go for her morning jog. My parents knew I was coming because I had called them the night before. So, I quietly went into my room, knowing she was sleeping in Nicks room. I decided to wait out the hour by figuring out what I would say to her to win her forgiveness. Just as I had predicted, an hour later I heard her creep out of Nicks room and jog out the door. I waited about two minutes before following her. I had a feeling that she knew someone was behind her, but I also knew she wouldnt think much of it. I knew she was jogging to the beach; her favorite place. When I finally reached the beach, I saw her sitting about 10 feet from the shoreline. She had put her iPod away and was just looking out into the horizon; I knew she was thinking of her grandfather. So I slowly and quietly walked behind her. Then I said her name, Elizabeth in a voice just above a whisper, so that I was loud enough for her to hear. She turned and I saw all the color leave her face. What are you doing here? she asked bitterly. Well its now or never.
