I like Emily's idea (I wonder why). This one was mine:
Cant think of a name.
She's a time traveler from the future who is dressed like that because that's what she thinks people in this time dress like. She's looking for her pet squibble (which is a cross between a corgi and a Koala that can breath underwater). She gets people to help her by using magic from the future to bring their childhood stuffed animals and imaginary friends to life.

Oh wow, Shannon, thank you for saving me from doing something really silly. I was totally about to say something about a greenscreen and a superimposed jungle video.
Anyway....
Character name: *Boa* constrictor (tee-hee, a pun)
Background: She lives in the jungle and is friends with all the animals (hence the lion).. She befriends new animals and tricks unsuspecting travelers by using the boas as tails or other animal features and posing as different animals.

Character name: Penelope le Fuzz
Background: She once had dreams of becoming an actress and doing voices. When that didn't work out, she got some Disney stuffed animals and did voices for them in downtown Santa Cruz.
