Test done with an in-development Blender 2.5 Cycles build. I rendered 5 times the frames needed to do some kind of sampled motion blur to test if noise is reduced and how it will look. To exaggerate the noise test, I added also some "dust" to the camera lens. As you can see, the noise doesn't change very much in between frames which renders this method as not as effective as it could be.
2500 frames each with 200 samples, needed around 24 hours to render.

@videogameattack Cycles is still full of bugs, maybe you head over to blender-artist and ask those guys.

Can you link to a tutorial or such which shows how you do that 'oversample' motion blur? I've thought about the theory behind it before but never tried to put into practice. This, I have to say, is the first time I've seen someone actually use it (and it is good)

@thoosequa :D yeah actually i checked this one and it just stops after the first image ... -.- i am not that new to blender so i have rendered a few fluid animations before but never in cycles

@videogameattack I know this sounds retarded but: have you checked if you clicked Render Animation, and not just Render Image?

i have a question ... i finished the setup for an animation but if i want to render it as an animation blender only renders one frame and then stops ... what could i do ?
