The game is: One Must Fall 2097 Dos.

I used DOSBox version 0.61 for the emulation.
I used ZD Soft Game Recorder version 1.5 for the capture.
I used Nero Vision version 4 for the video converting to VCD.

It's not a bug, it's a secret cheat/feature.

OMF2097 had tons of such easter eggs, all been fully documented decades ago.

Changing the robot's colour is not a bug. This was in the manual and is a normal feature of the game so you could customize your robot.

This was a sweet game. Back in the day remember in the demo where you could get to the last boss.. If you beat him on hard you unlocked him for use in the demo :) Good memories of this one.
