"Would it have been kinder to humanely euthanize him" Not necessarily... pitbulls are tough animals. They have a high pain threshold and an incredibly strong will to live. A life well worth saving if you have people who care enough to do it. Most vets would have put this dog down. These wonderful people made it their mission to give this beautiful animal a second chance at life. Only a pitbull could have endured this much suffering and pulled through ( w/help from friends)Please update this!

So sad! Seeing this kind of cruelty makes me cry, to see what humans are capable of, but I'm so glad to hear that he has been taken care of and doing much better now. I found this youtube channel after reading the article in L.A. Times. That man deserves much worse than he's gotten but it's nice to see some legal consequences put forth. I hope he learns his lesson!
