The 13th September 2009 at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway with Taff Vale No.85 hauling her final services before withdrawal for overhaul. Also in service was LMS 3F No.47279. Later we see previous clips taken over 2009 of the fine machine doing what she does best.

Please note this isn't a return to filming, it was a spare few hours that I had my hands yesterday.

  • why are you packing filming in?

  • I'm moving to university on Saturday and decided to give it up. There's a press release on the website with more details.

  • well good luck. where are you going and what are you studying?

It seems a shame to permanently pack it in, why not just keep it as a hobby?

  • Thanks, I'm moving up to Sunderland on Saturday to study ICT & Secondary Education... And I think the times right for me to move on really, I want to go and enjoy a student's life without having to worry about getting up to do this... We shall see what the future holds in 3 years.

  • Superb tribute to this old lady Si, she was the only one of two in preservation that was in working order, so will be sadly missed whilst out of service....5* Bob

  • Fantastic video will be missed 5*

  • OK. Good luck

And by keeping it as a hobby, I just meant maybe go and see mainline trains or visit tanfield or something once every half term so you can enjoy the thing you love doing

But ultimately its your choice mate so good luck
