Sony Corp. developed "An integrated technology "SmartAR (smart AR)"" that adopted an efficient maker-less method that two dimension bar code is not used etc. in the AR technology that was able to display information that was not able to be known on the screen by a usual sight and additive information such as virtual objects when taking a picture with the camera such as smart phones.

ソニー株式会社は、スマートフォン等のカメラで撮影した際、画面に通常の視覚では知ることが出来ない情報や仮想的な物体などの付加情報を表示させることが出来る拡張現実技­術において、2次元バーコードを使用しない高性能なマーカレス方式等を採用した「統合型AR技術 "SmartAR (スマートAR)"」を開発した。
