Is Hell mentioned in the Bible?

Hell is mentioned several times in the Bible. Here are a few of those instances:

    2 Peter 2:4-5 ,Mark 9:46, Matthew 8:1, Isaiah 66:24, Daniel 12:2,Luke 16:22-24, Luke 12:5,Mark 9:47,Matthew 23:33 and Revelation 19:20. These are just a few. God bless.

  • Oh yeah, and the notion of eternal damnation is literally a mistranslation that was abused and used to make people live in fear. It's a control mechanism.

  • and yet, the overwhelming majority of NDEs are positive and do not include any sort of hell. Atheists, Buddhists, Muslims, Christians, and people of all faiths have had heaven-like afterlife experiences. Don't try to twist the NDE to support your notion of hell, because it simply doesn't. It seems that hell fear-mongers will try to grasp onto anything that supports their beliefs, and dismiss everything that does not.

  • You all should put down your ancient books. Now you have contemporary testimony of God -- what He is and what He wants. There is false information in both books (regarding the argument below). When we simply listen to modern testimony, together, we will realize that we are indeed brothers and that we are our brother's keepers.

  • @DGodOfTheBible How can putting someone in the ground purify them there is so much crap there.

  • Paul said "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". We DO immediately go to Heaven or Hell - but we DO have a final judgement day as well...the bodies in the ground (or whereever they are) are resurrected so that our souls are joined to a new, glorified body given to us by God. Remember the story of the rich man and Lazarus? They were IMMEDIATELY taken to either Hell or at that time, Paradise (before Christ gave us the gift of the shedding of His blood) now, Heaven.

  • @SuperGeniusLife See you there too =)
