@wren475 there are a lot of english loanwords in japanese, and english is considered cool. but a lot of the english they use have become parts of japanese, so technically they are japanese words ( since they're in japanese dictionaries) that were borrowed from english, but were used so often they became japanese. similar to how english has a lot of french words like "tour de force" and rendevouz.

@buisyman In Japan, English is considered cool. Kind of like Chinese and Japanese is in the west. They tend to put it in song lyrics or on shirts for that reason, sort of like how people the US get tattoos in Chinese or Japanese. As far as I know, it has nothing to do with the Japanese language. J-pop bands aren't the only ones that do this, so I think it has something to do with English being almost everywhere, and sounding foreign in a cool way, if your first language is something else.
