DAMN I jumped up on top my coffee table watching this cheering for Dave Marcis!!

3:08 Andretti going for the lead - Andretti had a drafting ability that went overlooked by a lot of people. He put that #43 into holes and got it to the front quite a lot.

@mattbachman1 Two-abreast restarts is a good rule the last ten years, but overall the changes they've made have not worked. Closing pit road remains a colossal mistake and it's led to more mistakes with all the other pit rules they have. The COT is a failure not because they look alike but because it's an unsound design - the design here with long-lean and a roof blade works.

@racermac1988 The IRL race at Texas was taking place immediately after the Winston 500.

Man, Jerry Punch could actually commentate back then...

It was cool to see Dave Marcis lead a lap

Stop the car! Its got beer in it!
damn.....look at all that room they still have running 3 wide. Too bad 3 wide barely fits with the COT, yellow line rule, and SAFER barriers. Besides the green white checkered, no good changes in NASCAR in last few years-every car is too similar

I think the reason that Jerry Punch was doing the play by play for this race was because Bob Jenkins had a prior commitment with the Indy Racing League At Texas...
