  • id say the FPS brown realistic shooter would last an other 3-4 years at best, hopefully less

at best we'd see changes in 2 years

at first there were more and more bad FPS being sold since it was cheaper and easier to do

however most of those try to include a multyplayer and severly cuts the experience in half

by juging the timeline of FPS from 2000 to now, people are getting tired of the FPS genre mainly because the graphic department doesnt have anywhere to go futher

  • @RocMegamanX Ok I do hear you there, platforming in FPS has always been a pain in the balls, Mirror's Edge (FPS?) tried to find out if it could be an entire game (a first person platformer) with mixed results. But for me, Metroid was always about exploring alien worlds from their beautiful vistas to their claustrophobic caverns. Im sorry, but exploring worlds feels better in a first person perspective (Skyrim?). I just disagree that Prime is bundled in with COD when it really shouldnt be.

  • Im gonna call you "go make me a sandwhich suzy". Cause you whine so much.

  • I agree with practicly everything Moviebob says here.

Except for the Mirror's Edge thing. I think Mirror's Edge was sweet.

Flawed, and with plenty untapped potential, but still pretty neat.

  • TF2 was out at the time of this videos creation right?

    OK if so, TF2.

  • Ummm... What about the Elder Scrolls?

  • I have a tip for you that could change your mind about first person: DARK MESSIAH of Might and Magic.

    It differs from your description:

    - Shooting is optional, the only time you HAVE to shoot is when you need rope arrows to progress.

    - You have a physical presence in the game world, you're not just a pair of arms.

The main point I disagree with you on though is Mirror's Edge. It DOES work! A third person game about parkour could not have been made better, I should know, I do parkour.

  • @Brodystone8 Something else me Bob likes to play Skyrim in 3rd person.

  • @supajasiu So... basically Bethesda games?

  • elder scrolls is fp

  • I disagree with the statement of that FP only works for shooters.

I play racing sims and I always use the FP aka cockpit view.

But other than those 2 genres I have yet to see a other genre working well in the FP perspective.

Mirror's Edge, like you said, made that very clear.
