@mikeof83 You are incorrect. The original series' characters were all of Asian decent. All of them. This is backed up by everything in show including the very words by the creators and those that worked on the original show.

@firebend25 They aren't going to have kyoshi warriors until book 2, or Movie 2, I guess. But I'ms ure they'll have face makeup, or at least nice outfits :) Yeah I miss the kyooshi warriors, though I never really liked Suki, sorry Suki ;)

They FINALLY had Asians as Kyoshi Warriors, and they had to cut it out, out of the movie...

okay seriously y r there no black people or atleast mixed people in the movie (mostly the water tribe)...
katara, sokka ... the whole water tribe have color to their skin.

just so we are all clear on a few things on the cartoon...the people who wrote and directed avatar are from the unted states, the drawings came from korea, and there are no ethniticities because if you haven't noticed this is not our world but an alternate. four nations with all ethniticites living together. some influences where in there definately, but they are a whole different group of people.

Earthbending: White/Europeans
Sandbenders: Arab/African American
Other (Kioshi warroirs/Jets group/etc...: White
