Alarm clock is not part of the Prayer. We Muslims have to love and respect the Prophet, however what I have heard is that the recitation of some verses in Mawlid contains the attributes of Allah given to Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) which is unacceptable to many scholars . This is my understanding. Allah knows best. Shaikh Hamza, MashaAllah is one of the best speakers of our time. May Allah bless him for all his efforts.
I believe you misunderstood the hadith. It says follow the jamaa'ah, not the jumhoor. The jamaa'ah means the group and there are interpretations as to what it refers to but it reported by that the majority (ironically) is of the opinion that a majority does not constitute ijmaa' and hence not binding. And how could it be required to follow the majority? If so, no one would follow a minority opinion, but every madhhab has some minority opinions.
@salafimediax but bro, didnt the Prophet pbuh say that we should follow the majority. The majority of scholars of Ahl us sunnah have said that as long as nothing haraam is involved in the celebrations then there is nothing wrong with it?. Also it says in the quran that we should rejoice at Allahs mercy.
i think people just need to LISTEN to what he is actually saying. one major issue we Muslims have is that we don't listen to others. and plus we don't have to agree on every point, every point of Fiqh. we do have a vast tradition of differing understandings amongst Scholars.
@subzero786 because most people dont understand there own religion and our on the deen of there forefathers, we dont follow people or countrys, we follow Quran and Sunnah with the understanding of 1st 3 generations of islam. where did it Mawlid start ? Did the prophet celebrate anyone birthday ? did the sahabah celebrate the mawlid ? if not WHY ? dont you think they loved the prophet more then be and you ?
Assalmualaikum Brother Yusoof..I read a lot of your writings but if I may point out my view of thses celebrations of our Rasool which are also shared by many other muslims? Celebrations of birthdays were a pagan custom and continued by christians and jews and we were asked not to follow their customs. Over praise has led to a shirek and I know many people personally who actually believe that his soul and other souls of dead saints grace these gatherings asthfirullah. They in fact make dua to them
..contd/ and believe they are NOT dead. Also we are not good enough to ask Allah directly and need a go between. the best way to love him is to a revive a sunnah and follow his ex. Praising does not benefitt him or us and not sadakathu jarriya. we spend lmoney and time in innovations that could lead to shirek. The Sahabs did not celebrate his birth and he fasted mondays and thursdays coz those were the days the good deeds were taken to Allah. the two eids should be celebrated Islaamically.
@salafimediax if its from indian culture why is it a national holiday in every muslim country except one? And why was the brother in law of Suatan Salah ud din Ayubi famed for celebrating it
