This is my re-uploaded tribute to the men and women who served in the Rhodesian Army during the Bush War 1965-80 especially those who served, fought and died in the RhAF, Selous Scouts, RhSAS, RhACR, RAR, RLI and RhArty during Op Miracle Sep/Oct 1979. Thanks guys, you will always be remembered. My thanks also to the regimental associations of the Selous Scouts and RhSAS for use of photos taken by operators and published in other media. Photos published here from my personal collection were either taken by myself or by other members of RhACR and shared amongst us. My thanks also to Corb Lund and the "Hurtin Albertans" for the music from their album Horse Soldier (2007) - you guys rock!

  • look at what they have now...now you know you wat thy were fighting for..god bless all the rhodies

  • What was Rhodesia like during those times tprdfh51?

  • I am still amazed that the USA supported the commies that they were fighting while fighting the NVA at the same time

  • Dem FALs.

  • @tprdfh51

They wouldn't have been the first to use a weird calibre, and both China and North Korea had 7.92 weapons. Still, like I said, you were there so you know. I'm only really familiar with Soviet and Yugo sniper rifles (and Brit ones of course.)

  • @voiceoftruth2006 ya, and you are such an expert on ComBloc weaponry that the 7.92X57 ammo required for the Mauser M76 just doesn't jibe with ZANLA's reliance on Soviet 7.62X54 rimmed ammo that the Romanian PSL utilized...right?

    It's really "tricky" bud!

See you for pack drill at 2100hrs "expert".

  • @tprdfh51

Well, you were playing with the thing so I'm happy to take your word for it!

  • @voiceoftruth2006 definately not a Yugo voice.

  • @tprdfh51

Well, I'M an expert on WP weapons and I thought it was a Yugoslav M76. It's a tricky one :-)
