Luciano Pavarotti sings La donna e mobile from act III of Verdi's Rigoletto. This is probably my favourite rendition of the aria, Pavarotti uses good dynamic contrast and does a thrilling cadenza with a C#.

  • This is not a C# what do you mean about that? Is it another performance

  • In the cadenza he goes up to a C#, just like in the version GermanOperaSinger has posted.

  • Meglio di così non si può cantare quest'aria. Grande maestro!!!!

  • @Mooorhe Yup--he does it! Although, with the dragging of the sound so slow its out of key---need to be speeded up to the proper tempo--me thinks???

  • @pearlmuth3 In the Cadenza.

  • increible, se escucha tan facilito,

  • Just a little scoop at the end. But the only time I have heard it.

  • Bien Pavarotti, pero què lentitud y aburrimiento la de la orquesta, tenía que ser Giulini.

  • non sono solito parlare di perfezione... però meglio di così non si puo cantare quest'aria secondo me.

  • Ok thats not true at all, but still you have to consider how different both of their voices were. Very different.

  • what a cadenza...that C#...WOW.

  • I agree, he had a very good and powerful voice. He should have kept the on the same repertory the whole of his life with La boheme, Rigoletto and the other pure Lyric roles. He would have not have almost any voice decline as his voice was so talented by nature.
