This is an upload so I can help my readers understand how they can use inflections in their voice to influence Autistic people's attention when needed.

  • When people with autism get like this, its best to leave them alone but watch them from a safe distance, I once walked down the park with a butchers knife after a fight with my dad, not realizing then I was chased by police and had a gun pulled on me.

  • Oh goodness,

How scary. It is good to watch from a safe distance, that is of course if they are not putting themselves or others in severe danger (which you'd use appropriate CPI). Glad you haven't had that happen again! Would have responded sooner but in and out of hospital with C-Diff really bad. On Flagyl and its making me very sick as well.

    Hugs,

    Kris

  • i had to play the knife game with my cousin one day. I lost

  • Wow, so there are two of you who have had to do that... The kitchen is an intriguing place. Praying for you guys!

    Hugs,

  • i've played the "give me the knife game" with my 2 year old ASD son. not fun.

  • Sorry, just saw the comment. For real? Oh, do you mean he takes the knives from the kitchen? -- Do you use voice inflections like him? Though if you start doing that he might like your voice he'll want the knives more often to hear you talk like that. Yeah, bet its not fun. Hope it gets better katy.

    Hugs,

    Kris

  • I loved this movie. I also have autism, but not like that obviously. I think it was not only an intense movie but also very interesting

  • He almost took off his finger!

  • Hey,

So thankful your commenting on all these videos! And giving your input as it helps so many people ;). I do feel strongly since this goes with my site/book for parents of Autistic children that there be no swearing words in the comments so I'm sorry but gonna have 2 delete it 4 that reason. Just recomment with Holy Crud, he almost took off Bruce's finger! ;) I hope you understand!

    Hugs,

    Kris

  • Hi Mousegirl,

First off you're welcome! :-). You can find this movie at like blockbuster or hollywood videos, etc. I do warn its rated R, and well kinda sexual in some parts and cussing in some parts a lot, but I try to fast-forward through that 'cause its such a good movie and representation of classic Autism. Very neat and mysterious. Hope that helps - feel free for anymore questions and check out my other videos.

    Hugs to you,

    Kris
