http://www.nerdfitness.com Heels shoulder width apart, toes angled out, drop your butt back and down until it touches the chair. Your knees shouldn't extend out beyond your toes, and you should be able to stand right back up without having to lean forward if you're doing it properly.

Attempt this exercise at your own risk, and always consult a physician before beginning any physical activity.

Might need to warm up your knees joints properly. Might be an issue with the tracking of the patella, which can be caused by muscle imbalances or the pronation of your foot/feet. See a podiatrist if the pain continues and try to strengthen the muscles in your legs, especially if you have trouble squatting.

After I did some chair squats, I keep feeling knee pain while sitting down. When my legs hang from a stool and I shift my weight to my left leg, my left kneecap gives me a sort of sharp pain. Please help.
