The Waukesha ICK is a heavy duty ball bearing crank engine used in many applications requiring continuous unsupervised running including; generators, pumps, aviation auxiliary power units and as air conditioning and refrigeration units in the trucking and railroad industries. Some were also used to power boats and railway speeders.
The model ICK puts out 20 horsepower as far as I have heard.
I have no means of starting this engine other than to place my foot on top of the flywheel and kick it over. This is difficult to do, it involves a lot of puffing and sweating, and so I decided not to include a start up in this video.
I am new to this art so please give me some feedback as to the slide show duration and the length of the video segments, quality etc.
There is little on the net about these little engines and the only videos I have found have been of Waukesha's big stuff, so I figured it was about time to give the little ICK it's day in the sun.
Regards; Scott
i think an easy way start this would be to use a starter/generator on the crank pulley or belt start it with a more modern 5 or 6hp briggs or kohler with an idler setup so can start and warm up the small one then just push a lever to crank the big one

@cubcadetpuller Er...Sorry it took so long for me to reply. Wasn't paying attention. I think that a starternator is the best way to go.
