  • So that's what inspired this year's idents...

  • I loved this Christmas ident. Inspired by A Trip to the Moon by George Méliès. BBC2 used to have the best idents.

  • There was something charming / artistic about computer generated images produced in the late 80's and early 90's. (These Xmas idents and the 'exploding transmitter' BBC news introduction being good examples.) Everything now looks so flashy and tarty in comparison :-(

  • Also, I always thought as a lad that the star was played by Eric Idle, it certainly has the same boyish grin.

  • A million thanks, and I mean 1,000,000 thanks, for uploading this slice of pure nostalgia. All of a sudden I'm nine again and it's the school holidays...

  • earth is chuffed at 0:40.. AW!

  • Jubbly. One of my most favouristist idents. Reminds me of being 15 and spending the eve with my boyfriend watching all the Chrimbo telly.

Bring back the ident and my mispent youth.........

  • How does it sound like a stuck record? :S

  • On the ident it sounds like a stuck record!!!!

  • I just got the special edition dvd from the states (it was one of my favourite films when I was around 7-10) :) It's a good special edit. with 'making of', Bill Dear commentary and 'cut scenes'.
