  • Bruce Dunbar died today of cancer. He'd spent 15 years at KSAZ here after he left WLKY as a morning anchor and then a reporter. He will be missed.

  • @raymieX thanks for sharing. he will be missed.

  • Um, wasn't the winter storm in 94 here in louisville?

  • this was a different storm I believe.

  • you are correct. Wayne Hart went to WEHT in Evansville in 1993. I am thinking this is early 1993 before he left.

  • Was This was before Jay cardosi Joined WLKY?

  • What date was this?

  • Was this winter storm back in March of 1993?

  • the storn back then was worst because a solid sheet of ice was under 15 inch of snow and the temp stayed like 20 below 4 5 days..the 98 you could drive cause the streets werent cold enough to freeze

  • @mustwinder Its not that they couldn't drive. The idiot Mayor at the time 'aka' Jerry Abramson didn't have any working snow plows. All the snow plows were either not usable because of parts missing or weren't running. The city of Louisville had no working equipment whatsoever.

  • I lived there during this storm. I miss being there.

  • @mustwinder The worst one was January 17th, 1994. After 18 to 22 inches of snow temps dropped to -10 to -22 with windchills to -54. In other words everything froze rock solid and stayed that way for days. Major suck city! I hope we never see that again. You are correct though in that people can't drive in it because they want to floor the gas or the brakes since that is how they drive all the time.

  • yeah. weather conditions can get crazy around the Louisville area and there are alot of roads in Southern Indiana and out south and east of Louisville that seem to always be the ones that are snow covered and slick.
