My art journaling...

I am just doing what I do...art journaling! I'm skipping around different pages and adding stuff here and there. I don't ever really have an idea to start out with...I just do what comes to me (spontaneously) at the moment!! I love it!! :)

how do you prep your pages?

Well, sometimes I use a layer of gesso first. Most of the time though, I just dive right in and start putting layers of paint, collage or crayon down (and then I will put gesso on top of that). It all just depends on my mood that day!

Thanks!! Sometimes they are, but I don't use a lot of water. I use mostly straight paint for the first layer. I think the paint thickens up the pages a little, too.

who coined the term "art journal"? this used to be called scrapbooking. Now scrapbooking is done with all those kits and new coordinated materials you buy in the scrapbook aisle of the craft store...and the old way of doing a scrapbook is called art journal??
