A3 autostrada di Calabria (Monte Pollino) [HD]

A3 Salerno - Reggio di Calabria (autostrada di Calabria) between km 178 to km 193 (Campo Tenese - Frascineto), located in south part of Parco Nazionale del Pollino.

It shows southbound descent of A3 on south slopes of Monte Pollino from almost 1000 m height to about 550 m in just about 15 kilometres. Numerous tunnels and viaducts are shown, all in pretty bad condition but with a great view of a surrounding landscape. Notice sounds of numerous viaduct dilatations and many potholes, mostly in tunnels.

I'm Italian too,I've never drove there since now so I'm not informed about latest conditions but luckly from 2001 a new motorway construction is in progress on the whole route from Naples to Reggio Calabria.Almost two thirds of the original track are now completely refurbished and modernized with safe emergency lanes,with a more "sweet-bends" track and with properly lighted enlarged tunnels. We all hope works will finish soon, avoiding everyone to "forget" this national motorway shame called A3!

i am italian and i know very well this freeway....in "valico di campotenese" the height is 1015 m on the level of the sea...this freeway is very dangerous...
