As it readies for the debut of the Keith Olbermann show, Current TV is building a studio in Manhattan, says co-founder Joel Hyatt in this interview with Beet.TV.
Hyatt says that the studio will have additional uses beyond the Olbermann show, which will debut in "late Spring."
The San Francisco-based cable network has its primary broadcast studio in Los Angeles. Although Current maintains business operations in New York, this would be its first studio.
We caught up with Hyatt at the paidContent2011 conference in Manhattan for an overview of the role of Current as a news source and development of the company.
Hyatt and Olbermann were featured luncheon speakers, interviewed on stage by paidContent editor Staci D. Kramer.
Congratulations to Staci, Ernie, Caroline and the entire paidContent staff for a superb program. We were fortunate to cover and tape several interviews.

@deepdimples57 Yeah. I came for Keith and stayed for Rachel. Always enjoyed some Chris and Ed (and enjoy Cenk now, gratz to him!) and certainly found Lawrence enjoyable. But damnit if I watch MSNBC a lot less now.
We miss you, Keith. Please come back soon!

I guarantee you that many people are searching the web to find where Keith Olbermann will end up. I so miss accurate and exciting reporting -- someone told me the other day that she and her family don't watch MSNBC much any more since Keith Olbermann left and I concur. Love Rachel, Love Ed Schultz. Question: Can you persuade them to come over to Current TV? Adding them to the roster will make Current TV a powerhouse! Man, I'm sort of aroused! Wow, I love that guy, Mr. Keith Olbermann!!!

I hope and expect your network to let Keith Olbermann go for broke, to tell it the way he sees it, and do a lot of independent investigation and reporting, with minimal limits on the scope of his reporting!
I love his commitment to his work, and style, and I hope you guys LET HIM RIP !
Let him defend us from the corporate media, report stories they won't touch !
Let him defend us from all the crap that Bill-O, Rush, Glenn, etc shovel out to keep the masses in control !!
LET HIM RIP !!
