After a longer-than-usual incubation period, a lone hatchling emerged from the nest the morning of September 29. Days later, with no evidence of a depression and fearing that any surviving hatchlings might be trapped inside, the local volunteer team excavated the nest. They were thrilled to find 133 live hatchlings remaining in the nest. It appeared that their escape may have been hindered by wet, packed sand due to the shaded area where the nest had been laid. At sunset the hatchlings were released into the Atlantic.
i wonder what would have happened after a few more days

I love the fact that you guys still do this :) 6-7 years ago I watched a nest that took way longer than normal to hatch. I must have came to the beach every night for at least a month or two. Eventually they hatched and went into the ocean and luckily not for the hotels.
