It sounds hard to me :) Haha

Yep, how Aussie TVs are tuned is a mystery to me - and the tuning always wanders.
-
But remember, auto-tuning TV's were common but not as common as they are today, even in 1988. Some people still had models they bought when colour TV started in Australia in 1975 (usually the turret/twin dial type)
A funny fact is, when Melbourne switched in 1980, Channel Ten actually advised Melbourne viewers (particularly owners of remote control-operated TV sets) ahead of their switch from 0 to 10, to only tune the TV itself (through the tuning compartment) not the remote control handset.
-
It had to be technical. After Melbourne's switch in 1980, VCR use had risen and it was not just TV's that needed retuning but VCR's as well.
Fast Brisbane TV Fact: The first High Definition TV in Australia was in Brisbane. This innovation (which is a core element of what became digital television) was demonstrated inside the Japanese Pavilion at World Expo 88.

Hmm..seems a bit too technical, even for me!
