@Hectanooga1 Thanks, I think that is what happened. Getting that 9 hook today to give these another try, and gonna attempt those super cute lady bug slippers :)

@maqsizu If you use only one strand, they will turn out smaller.... one strand may work for a 1 to 2 year old.

Thank you!! I made your chunky baby hat with pom pom tonight and it came out beautiful! very easy to follow tutorials. I also made a set of slippers , which also came out great, but I'm having a problem with the sides and back not being as high as the front of slipper? Keeps dipping for some reason when I stop slip knotting and start the sides and back? I am using a 6.5MM hook ( dont have 9 right now) could this be the problem?

@bcelticx It's more likely that you dropped a stitch somewhere along the way.
Count the stitches you have in each row, to make sure you are maintaining the same number after you stop making the toe section. That should help.
Using a smaller hook, will also make your finished items turn out smaller than intended by the pattern.

Well, it gets difficult to make less sc in the first row when working with 2 strands and size 9mm hook, so make 10 sc instead of 7, and then don't increase any more, just move to making one sc in each stitch around. (If 10 isn't enough to go around the foot, do 11 or 12)
