We have the rcf 312a and they sound great for the average gig. Have done proms for 150/200 students without sub and sounded great. Would definately consider getting one sub though to add in more bass. @essexmobiledj on twitter :-)

Thanks for that wonderfull demo. If you had to compare the SUB 705-AS against the art 905-as. Which one would be more of a quality sound SUB. Which one would really give a solid deep bass punch 705 OR th 905?

Nice review - The RCF powered speakers have in the last few years become very popular, the speaker of choice for a lot of DJ's. They produce a good clean warm sound. I know guys that just use the powered 10inch RCF 310A and use two for most events and 4 for bigger crowds. I think it's an okay sound but with a sub I think you would definately round it out with more bottom end which is lacking . At 70llbs -30plus kgs for the sub a plus would of been wheels on them.

hey Brian
I found it rather strange how you said: 1 sub for 150people up to 300people. Because here in Belgium we use 4 x 600Wrms Subs 18inch 130db for 250 people.

@djsinmagic I was just like you until I got my first RCF powered speakers. Sold all my crown amps & run all powered now :)

Hi! DJ Brian,
I’m buying some JBL’s 3 way self powered speakers (JPRX635) 1,500 watts each. Do you think the RCF ART 312A's can keep up with the power demand or should I buy JBL subs?
Should the power of the speakers over all have the same watts as the top end speakers?

@MixingOfSoulsInc You mean the SUB 705AS, right? hmm I would perhaps look into a bigger RCF. They do make this in an 18 too

Are these going to become part of your 'standard' setup, or only when needed?

@Currier35 Yeah, when i am doing 150+, i'll probably bring them if for nothing else to test them in different rooms for vids :)
